Malvasia 2015, produced by the Borgo del Tiglio winery in the Collio DOC, near Udine and by the Slovenian border, is such an extraordinary example of the high quality white wines grown in Northern Italy.

A single-variety Malvasia, it undergoes a short controlled-temperature pre-fermentative maceration on the skins to extract aromas and flavours, and its fermentation happens in small, used oak vessels.

It’s a dry wine offering, right from the start, blossom, lemon, lime, white peach, apricot, and hint of tropical fruits on the nose, but also cut grass and honey, and well integrated notes of vanilla and caramel on the palate. A truly elegant wine.
